What a whirlwind weekend! Between Disney world and the BCS National
Championship, I am exhausted. We drove from Orlando to Miami for the game and then headed back to Orlando to catch our flight this morning! Aside from two quick stops to nap, we've been awake for about 26 hours now. We're currently sitting in the airport in Charlotte, NC, both feeling like we're been hit by a truck. This is a perfect reminder of why it is so important to eat well, exercise regularly, and sleep!
I have not felt this awful in a long time and my body is begging me to stop the torture. For the sake of full disclosure I must confess that my diet yesterday was disgusting. Chad and I stopped at Starbucks on our way to the game and had a breakfast sandwich and I had a soy latte. For lunch I had conch ceviche with about 5 tortilla chips. I finally gave in and had a few beers about 2 hours before game time. Chad and I shared a hot dog at a tailgate. By the time the game was over I'd consumed a total of 4 beers and had a black bean burger for dinner. My body is dying for something fresh and nutrient dense!
This morning I had a handful of cashews a Kind bar, which was the most "healthful" choice, a banana, and a soy latte. Once again, a reminder to pack my own snacks. Read labels people! Turns out, a Kind bar is really not that kind to your body. Lots of added sugar and random preservatives that seem pretty unnecessary to me.
So here's my take away from the weekend. 1. I had a wonderful time with the love of my life and I will cherish these memories always. 2. To minimize diet disasters, always pack your own snacks, just make it work! 3. Drinking only leads to more unhealthy choices, which you will inevitably regret soon after. 4. Put crap into your body and that's exactly what you will feel like!
Paleo challenge starts tomorrow and I have never been more ready to take something like this on. Sometimes you need to hit a low to find the motivation for change. Stay tuned, big things are about to happen!
