It is absolutely amazing to how much the weather seems to affect my demeanor and my motivation. It totally dictates my activities. I'm taking a break from housework to post this, and though I'm not a huge fan of laundry, I have no desire to leave the house again in the cold. So, housework it is.
This morning I forced myself out of bed and got ready to head to CrossFit. Before leaving, I packed up Chad's snacks and set out his breakfast. The WOD was brutal today, at least for me. Here it is:
5 dead lifts
5 power cleans
20 jumps over the bar
EMON for 12 minutes. I ended up using 95 for the deadlifts and 65 for the power cleans. I averaged about 15 seconds of rest but that certainly didn't seem like enough! I'm thinking I need to find a good paleo friendly protein shake to have before morning workouts because I was gased. It didn't help that after that, I ran errands for about 45 minutes before finally getting home. I quickly threw together my usual breakfast and scarfed it down. About an hour later I ate left over meatloaf from last night. For lunch I had a mixed green salad topped with roasted chicken breast, homemade hot carrots and salsa, avocado, and hot sauce. It was delightful!
I'm still up in the air about dinner but I'm thinking coconut flour crusted chicken nuggets, and roasted zucchini. I also really love to make zucchini sweet potato "fritters" so that is another possibility. I'll have to see how inspired I feel later on. For now its back to cleaning our spare room so we can actually use it as an office. Or... bundling up by the fire ;)
I decided to make the zucchini fritters and they turned out well but I like them better when I add sweet potato, so I will do that from now on. Overall dinner was great.
